A Day in the Life at Feral Acres
Posted by admin_09 on April 17, 2009 2:46 PM
I never, ever thought I would say these five words, but...my day job is amazing!
My name is Jarrod Paul Bramson and I’m the assistant for Feral House and Process. I work at the Feral Acres compound here outside Port Townsend, Washington, about two hours northwest of Seattle on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula.
My days at work are spent going in many different directions, but always in fun and interesting ways. One moment I’ll be scanning strange and amazing documents and the next I‘ll be out in the garden with Adam, planting potatoes. Or I‘ll be frantically trying to get my packages sealed up before Fed Ex is gone and suddenly I have to pause because there’s a deer staring at me through my office window. Yesterday I spent the morning putting together press kits for Depression 2.0 and then spent the afternoon chopping wood as if my life depended on it. And then there is the time I spend organizing books. So many books…
Below is a peek at a typical workday at the compound.

After the wood's been chopped, Jodi fixes chili and beer for the menfolk.
Back at the scanning station, working on Adam P's upcoming book: "Feral Man in a Feral Land: Strange Tales from the Apocalypse Culture." It includes Adam's personal stories and documents that have never been seen related to his 20 years of publishing Feral House books. It's coming out in the late fall. Here's an advance peek at the cover...

I feel very lucky to have this job. Adam and Jodi have turned me on to so many new concepts and subcultures. I’ve learned a lot and I thank them for sharing the information.
Now, please excuse me.... I have to send out some books to important review people…then I'm off to cut some trails though the forest and mow the lawn…
